Hi friend,
We’ve all poured love into our email design only to have it behave in unexpected ways in the mailbox. Especially true with Microsoft OUTLOOK. And even more so when it shows up in the inbox on the boss’s computer! (We feel your pain).

Why does this happen?
Mailbox providers, like Gmail and Outlook etc, aren’t 100% the same in how they render HTML and CSS (the code that your emailers are written in). This results in your mailer sometimes displaying differently.
If your audience is people in business (they mostly use Outlook for their email) and your brand styling is very important to you then this is beyond annoying.
Rest assured we have some fixes you can try:
Please share this to your resident email developer – they will thank you for it.
White lines in Outlook – senior email developer, Thys Feldtmann, has an explanation and solutions.
Also How to get rid of those pesky blue and purple links in your emailer.
My own advice is that all that effort and energy to make an emailer perfect doesn’t make it necessarily perform better. One teeny white line isn’t going to be a deal breaker 😉
Having said that we are a little OCD over here and leave no stone unturned when it comes to getting our emails spot on! It’s one of the many reasons why I love this team, and why our clients love us.
Just keep swimming,
