Revisiting remote work and team retreats
Hi email marketing friend,

First, thank you for being here. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your support!

As you might know, Cantaloupe is a remote working agency and it’s part of our work life to meet regularly to collaborate and co-create. All online of course. Thanks to our systems, everyone’s strong work ethic and high sense of ownership, we work well as a team. But the in-person element is important too! So, our year-end breakaway is super special for us. It is important to me that we create opportunity and space for conversations to flow, to share experiences and to have fun together.

This year my view on breaking away has been further influenced by the conversation about Revisiting Remote Work between David C. Baker and Blair Enns on their 2Bobs podcast. It will be no surprise when Spotify lists 2Bobs as my most listened to podcast again this year! Anyone in the business of selling expertise will benefit so much from their conversations.

David talks about a mandatory yearly retreat to give the team some quality in-person time together, which really helps everyone grow. It makes a lot of sense, especially with new people joining, since onboarding can be tricky with a fully remote setup. We’re even thinking about doing it twice a year to make it even better.

Thank you to the amazing people in this team – they are beyond awesome – and I am proud of the work they do. Thank you to our clients who manage things on their side so that we’re able to take some time away.

Cheers 🥂
